Assynt Weekend

Six members (Ken, Bill, John, Sandy, Graham and Iain) enjoyed a hot, dry sunny and midge-free (!)  long-weekend staying at Inchnadamph Explorers Lodge in Assynt May 10-13th.

Peaks conquered included the iconic: Suilven, Quinag, Canisp, Cul Mor, Ben Dearg, Ben More Assynt and Conival, as well as the lesser-known: Ghlas Bheinn and (Sandy and Graham, please insert appropriate mountains here).

On Saturday, we were even honored by a guest appearance from Gail and her sister (who eschewed the IEL, staying in a lush campervan and presumably watched the Eurovision Song Contest).

The IEL was excellent, serving a light breakfast every morning and supplying a selection of tasty Lochinver Larder pies at dinnertime. In order to avoid the Eurovision Song Contest on Saturday, most of us enjoyed a first-class seafood dinner at the lively and delightful Delilah’s restaurant in Lochinver.
