Kinlochhourn Weekend

We were based at Kinlochhourn Farm and Cottage where we were looked after by Tony. It is fair to say that those in the Farm House had the greater comfort and paid more whilst those in the cottage enjoyed the more characterful lodgings.

In all, 4 new Munros and 3 new Corbetts were climbed by DHC members from Glen Quoich and Kinlochhourn.

On St George`s Day 6 of us had a day out on Ben Aden. The first river crossing had been reconnoitred on Wednesday evening so we were off to a flyer at 07.35 hrs. A short trip round to the West end of Loch Quoich (inc. a straightforward crossing of the notorious Abhainn Chosaidh) saw us ready to set off for Meall a Choire Dhuibh just after 11.00.

Recovering from the early start and rapid pace!

After bombing up the stalkers track to the ridge we spent sometime enjoying the close-up views and exploring all the intricacies of the topography of the many knolls, ridges and gullies on the 2k way to the summit, arriving a little later than intended @ just before 15.00 hrs.

We then romped down the Allt Coire na Cruaiche and were soon back at the cars at a little before 20.00 hrs. , Gordon had found a path through the various bogs around the Loch and had set a cracking pace on the way out.
