Wild Camping at Black Bridge
28-30 May 2021
It was a glorious sunny evening when Moira, Ali and Jane met at Black Bridge on 28th May ready to cycle about 10km to a lovely spot by Loch Vaich. It was tough going with panniers full of camping gear!
On the way we met the owners of the derelict buildings there who suggested we might like to camp in front of the house. We did and used the shelter of the building for cooking.
Early next morning the 3 of us cycled a little further then split up so Jane and Moira climbed Meall a Chaorainn and Ali climbed the very remote Corbett, Carn Ban.
Moira and Jane continued towards Beinn Tharsuinn enjoying a picnic by Crom Loch on the way.
Ali enjoyed amazing views from the summit of Carn Ban. Can you name those north westerly peaks?
Moira decided to drive back home while Ali and Jane went on to climb one more mountain each.
Sunday was a hot day and Ali climbed Sgurr na Feartag from Craig with more stunning views from the top. The Torridon hills to name but a few.
Jane chose the Graham Meall Doire Faid from the carpark SE of Braemore Junction, which was a surprisingly challenging hill. She traversed from east to west and also enjoyed stunning views from the way up and from the summit.
A thoroughly enjoyable weekend of camping fun, great hills, views, good company and nae midges!!
