First walk of 2023 - Carnferg!

Five walkers gathered for the rescheduled Carnferg walk; Ken Craig, Gail Pritchard, Alan Watson, Gillie Hagger and Ben Mellor, who was on his first DHC walk.

The forecast was overcast skies, light winds and mild temperatures and that's exactly how it was. Much of the ascent was within woodland before breaking onto open moorland. The fine summit pyramid was quickly reached and there were good views of the distant snow covered hills. After a short break for refreshments in the benign summit conditions, we descended via a land rover track to the start.

A pleasant short walk in preparation for the longer DHC walks that lie ahead for 2023.
